The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is a central agency authorised to conduct the Civil Services Examination, Engineering Services Examination, Combined Medical Services Examination, Combined Defence Services Examination, National Defence Academy Examination, Naval Academy Examination, Special Class Railway Apprentice, Indian Forest Service examination, Indian Economic Service examination, Indian Statistical Service examination, Combined Geoscientist and Geologist Examination, and Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandant) examination in India. The examination is one of the toughest examinations in India with success rate of 0.1%–0.3%. The agency's charter is granted by Part XIV of the Constitution of India, titled as Services Under the Union and the States. The commission is mandated by the Constitution for appointments to the services of the Union and All India Services. As on July 20, 2017 recruitment agency Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has been asked by the government to share online the scores of candidates taking competitive exams. The initiative is aimed at the government's effort to boost hiring by the private sector. .
